My name is Rose Hyppolite and I am the founder of Back to Our Roots: Kinks & Kurls. The idea for this venture came about from my own love of natural hair and desire to share that passion with others. I wanted to inspire naturals to grow a genuine love and confidence for their natural roots, all while encouraging others who have yet to take the step to become part #teamnatural.

After attending a curly girl event hosted by L.O.C.K.S., I asked the Curly in College brand ambassador, Leaundra, about how I could go about organizing my own natural hair event. Sitting in a corner booth of a diner, I decided to share my idea with a few close friends, who immediately showed their support. Having no experience with this sort of grand scale planning, I really just winged it and started reaching out to companies. Within a few months, I started to see this seed of an idea come to fruition. This project is a dream come true and I look forward to seeing #btornatural grow into an inspiring movement for natural hair appreciation. As always, "may your curls grow and your skin glow."
